Review: Ben 10 and TMNT

Ben 10 Alien Force Volume 4 (Cartoon Network)

My son loved this Ben 10 DVD. He had never heard of Ben 10. He’s 6 but still watches Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, and Dino Train. Shhh…don’t tell…I don’t want to ruin his street cred with the 6-year-old crowd. He loved Ben 10. I watched for a few minutes. Totally understood why boys like it. Felt absolutely comfortable letting him watch it alone. He does not have any Ben 10 toys, but loved the DVD.

Ben, Gwen, and Kevin are back for all-new adventures with the release of Ben 10: Alien Force, Vol. 4 to DVD.  This latest release is stacked full of alien heroes, nasty villains, and a whole lot of action that fans have come to expect from the Ben 10 franchise. In Ben 10 Alien Force Volume 4,  the intrepid trio battle Ben’s evil twin, Ben tackles an even greater challenge…trying to give Kevin dating advice.  But armed with his heroic bravery and powerful Omnitrix, Ben can handle just about anything.

Extending the show’s success from its first season, 12 million kids 6-11 and close to 8 million boys 6-11 tuned in to watch their favorite alien fighting hero battle evil in season two, according to Nielsen Media Research.  The premiere episode was also the number one show among boys 6-11 on Friday nights in a ranking of all kids’ cable programs.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Season 8 (Lionsgate)

My son received a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Cawabunga Carl Van
for Christmas last year. He loved it. I have no idea who Carl is, but he knows all the turtles by name. I found the TMNT motorcycle at a consignment astore shortly after Christmas. He was in heaven.

Bodacious! The 25th Anniversary of everyone’s favorite martial arts master Turtles continues with the first-time ever DVD release of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Complete Season 8 from the classic TV series.  Grab some pizza and watch as Leonardo™, Michelangelo™, Raphael™ and Donatello™ take adventure to the max in these eight shredding episodes from the classic TV series.

I was given copies of both DVDs for review. I was not compensated to write this post.
