New Year’s Eve Musings from Me Style!

More check-ins at our home
Powered by Whrrl

In past years we have spent time with family. At these parties/gatherings, I would always long to be at my home. I don’t enjoy driving on NYE even if the weather is fine. The combination of the lateness of the night, driving on country roads, encountering drunken people behind the wheel, and windy country roads are not missed by me.

We have been home since around 6:30 — in our cozy, toasty warm home. Movie + snacks + family time = fun

I can barely remember the days when ALL kids would be in bed by 7 p.m. on NYE!

I had anticipated tears from the boy about going to bed. But, he was so excited to FINALLY get to watch G.I. Joe that he was positively giddy as he headed up to bed. Daddy tucked him in, read him a story, helped him put his tooth under the pillow, and then lay on my son’s bed. Happy boy!
The girls were in “quiet as a mouse” mode. Neither wanted to go to bed before midnight. Disney channel showdown was their TV du jour. Now both are in bed.
Happy New Year!
