Sneaking Veggies In

My kid, preteen, and teen are a little old for me to “get away” (insert air quotes) adding fruit and vegetables to their food. I’m a meanie and I make them actually eat their F&V.

Back in the day we had never heard of Jessica_Seinfeld. I wonder if I would shred veggies in to food if I had a toddler. I think not. All that shredding and hiding is all a little too clandestine for me. I know my oldest would scope out what I was doing in a flash. The child who has the most selective hearing you can ever imagine is like a spy when it comes to anything sneaky.

Case in point…my husband and I planned a quiet dinner a deux after the our toddler and baby went to bed. We heaved a sigh of relief. Fired up the grill and prepared to eat a scrumptious dinner until we hear a crash. Like a flash we were upstairs to find our toddler in a heap lying on top of her gate. She had pushed the gate over in her zeal to get downstairs to the food. We asked her what she was doing and she said “something sure smelled good!”

I saw contest and blogged about it. The contest is sponsored by Horizon Little Blends and TwitterMoms.
