Quite a few Facebook friends have been using the phrase “Living my Best Life” to describe their status. I am not sure if this is said tongue in cheek or not. I’m not a huge Oprah fan, but I know an influential woman when I see one. I am sure she has caused a change in behavior in many a woman. I, personally, found her weightloss techniques quite elitist…I mean who, but Oprah, can afford a personal trainer, personal chef, and nutritionist. I cannot even afford to join Weight Watchers. I am in a different league to multimillion dollar earner Oprah!
However, I can strive to “live my best life.” For me, I will focus on the following New Year’s Resolutions:
- Clean up dishes, load dishwasher, clean kitchen floor at night…don’t leave everything until morning. I always feel so behind when I get up and see dishes and pans to be scrubbed.
- Meal plan, grocery shop, and make crockpot meals weekday nights…we are busy Monday through Thursday with activities. Dinner is often thrown together, but with a little pre-planning I could make my evenings less stressful.
- Win a vaccum in an online giveaway…I am only half-joking about this one. My vacuum will only work with the hose attachment. I’m a vacuum killer!
- Limit toys in family room…I want to have one small set of toys for my 5 yo son. We don’t have enough room to play a game or the wii. Also, the room is so cluttered that I can’t watch a movie or read a book after the children go to bed.
Thanks, Ellen (http://www.thriftyandchicmom.com/) for this great idea for a topic. I’m a new blogger and get some traffic, but would like to have more returning visitors. See you next Friday or maybe even Saturday if you like what I have to say!
I think you and I live similar lives, I am using many of those goals later one at a time. BTW I kill vacuums too and not b/c I am overly clean! Thanks for participating!
Those sound like awesome goals!!!! I might use those for next week lol. Good Luck!!!
Those are great goals. I’ve also been focusing on crock pot meals during certain nights of the week. I LOVE the crock pot. And we have also limited our downstairs toys to one box that we keep in a closet downstairs. (I’m pretty sure if I threw it out the kids would not even notice.) In fact, last year I got rid of 75% of my kids toys. It really helps.
Meal planning is a great way to stay organized and save money! Good goals!
