So, we–or should I say I–survived the beach. The hotel was a pleasant change from the cramped condo. There are too any of us and some of us don’t get along all that well.
The 5 day break was just long enough for me. A little sleeping in time…a little beach time…a little family time. All in all a good vacation. I am wondering if we will do the Atlanta trip. With gas prices, we might just stay home and do some home improvements.
I need to post some pics. This blog needs a little color. Now the question is do I post photos of my kids with their faces showing or should I post just the back of the head shots. I’ll pose this to anyone who happens to stumble upon this blog. DO YOU POST PHOTOS OF YOUR KIDS ON YOUR BLOG? Let me know.
Hey Jill B! I am SO glad that your pool is filled with friendly mom’s : ). I am not used to unfriendly ones. It is hard to be nice when they all talk about what new organic snacks they have found for their children and gymn schedules so they can stay super skinny : ).
What beach did you go to? We went to Wildwood the week after school was out and we went to a hotel also. We LOVED it! It was perfect for avoiding those that needed avoided at times.
Jill, I post pictures of my grown kids and my grandkids with permission. I don’t use real names for them or me.
Now, when I post pictures of JJ, I use his real name. That’s because he is the kind of dog who is ready for a rumble…if you know what I mean.
Well you know that I do. I know people who do not post pictures, or people who use pseudonyms, or who don’t post last names, etc, etc.
I think it’s sort of like being afraid to die in an airplane, when your chances of dying in an auto crash are exponentially higher. Is there the (very slight) possibility that some internet wacko could be inspired to come after my family from my blog? Sure, but then it’s also a possibility that locusts could swarm the state of Texas and destroy us all. The lurking neighborhood pedophile (who I assume must exist) is a much greater threat.
I don’t spend much of my time or energy worrying about anonymous internet wackjobs.
I do pictures and nicknames. But, I have to say lately I’ve been considering going with Minivan Moms plan. I don’t really see how using initials protects them all that much.
My take on the pics and names is this. I post pics of the kids. This was one of the main reasons I started blogging, to update family with pics of the kids.
Now on the names, I do not post the older kids names, but do post the babies. I figure if someone is out to get the older kids and calls them by name they have an easier time getting them. But the babies don’t know the difference. When they get old enough to respond and walk towards someone I’ll probably change it to nicknames.
But then I do think a lot like Tracey(MVM) does as well. If they are really out to get you they will find a way no matter what you do. If you don’t want to take the chance you can always have a private blog to share pics with family as well. But I really love seeing everyones kids!
