Have I mentioned before that I don’t like to shop? I’m sure I have. I’m not a shopper at all. If given the chance to go to the mall, for instance, I am far more likely to stop at exactly one store, buy the item or items that i need, and then retreat to Starbucks or catch a movie. My kids on the other hand LOVE shopping. So we have a dilemma in the Musings from Me household. 5 people. 2 shoppers. 2 shoppers if need be. And 1 nonshopper. If you hadn’t guessed, I am the nonshopper.
Now, I need clothes. My kids need shoes. There’s always a new book I’m after. So obviously I have to shop. We’d starve otherwise.
By the way, I haven’t always shunned going to the mall. You see back when I had a child in preschool, the baby and I would kill time shopping. We shopped the mall, big box stores, mom and pop stores, specialty stores, and any other store. As my last child finished preschool, I parked my shopping cart, stowed my shopping bags, and ran down the aisle out of the store to my waiting van. But we still needed stuff, so a compromise is in order. That compromise became “Online Shopping.” Shopping from the comfort of my bedroom? Yes please. Browsing for the perfect gift for a friend while in my jammies? Sign me up.
