Let’s talk about my minivan for a moment shall we? The van is much more than a vehicle. Much more than a means of transportation. It is our home on wheels — a family room on wheels if you will. It takes us to swim practice twice a week, volleyball practice four times a week, basketball once a week, clarinet lessons, to school if we are running late, to doctor’s appointments if we are sick.
It stores our folding chairs for the soccer field. Our ZipnGoBlanket for volleyball tournaments. Our beloved DVD player with two screens even though one works intermittently…pretty please work on long trips we’ll be good…we promise. Our stash of supplies to keep the 5-year-old occupied.
Simply where would we be without the minivan?

I know what you mean. We have our vehicle perminanly stocked with diapers, wipes, stollers, blankets, ect. You never know when you might need these things while on the run!
We spend way too much time in our van too and it looks like it! Now that it’s warming up I need to get that thing cleaned out!
Wow, that brought back memories. Well, except ours didn’t have DVD players. 🙁 But we sure did a lot of living in our van. We had all that stuff in ours, and a pretty extensive first aid kit, since soccer is so not a contact sport. My kids are grown and married themselves now and I don’t want to say I miss my van (Big Blue), but I am surely enjoying my (downsized) Highlander.
