I am not a particularly good cook, but I do cook all meals for the family. With several picky eaters and a hectic afterschool sports schedule, I tend to cook meals that we all like. The Musings from Me house policy is that I make one dinner for everyone…no substitutions!
Pasta is a favorite of ours. In a bid to go healthy I have been looking for alternatives to our regular pasta choice. Like moms everywhere, I attempt to get my kids to eat healthful foods, but my kids seem to balk whenever they hear words like “broccoli,” “cauliflower,” or “beets.” Thankfully, some innovative food products these days offer added supplements that often go missing from kids’ diets.
I had a chance to do a blind taste test with my family. No, I didn’t blindfold them as can you imagine how much messier their shirts would be if they ate a pasta dinner while blindfolded! I served Ronzoni “Smart Taste” pasta in place of our usual pasta. It looks and tastes like regular white pasta, but contains added calcium and fiber, helping kids get their daily recommended value of both nutrients while still enjoying a favorite food. Other benefits for the whole family include lower calories and fat than traditional white pasta, and no sodium, preservatives or cholesterol.
Visit www.RonzoniSmartTaste.com to find out more information. Ronzoni surveyed moms of kids 3-12 and more than half find it challenging to feed healthy food to their kids. Want to see something funny? Ronzoni created a funny, spoof video featuring the Smart Taste Supermom. I know people like this “Smart Taste Supermom,” do you?!?
I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour campaign by Mom Central on behalf of Ronzoni Pasta and received a sample of Ronzoni Smart Taste Pasta to facilitate my review and a $20 thank-you gift certificate.
