I grew up watching only three channels. That’s right I said THREE. British TV was a barren wasteland of limited programming on those three channels. There were news programs, variety shows, sitcoms, dramas, sports, and kiddie shows. Oh and one of the three channels only broadcast from noon to 6 p.m. Can you even imagine that?!

Now I have TV channels galore. I have more channels on my TV than I can even count. I scroll through hundreds and hundreds of channels. I can watch 24/7 news coverage. I can delve deep in to a subject by watching documentaries. Or I can get caught up in a family saga like Downton Abbey. Or find out about the latest goings-on of my favorite reality TV shows. As a family we watch a lot of TV. We watch movies for family movie nights. My husband and son watch sports, like Redskins games, the World Cup, and the Olympics. My tween has always watched the Disney Channel. My teens like watching Pretty Little Liars on ABC Family. I love a good reality show like The Little Couple on TLC, Alaskan Bush People on the Discovery Channel, or the Real Housewives franchise on Bravo.
