Making Do Without Blogging Gold Moments

The poopy diapers. The not sleeping through the night. The round-the-clock feedings. All of these are GOLD to the blogger. In fact, if you are a blogger with a baby, toddler, or preschooler, you would have NO shortage of stories. Little kids are BLOGGING MAGIC. And then there is my story of blogging…

My story starts where my blog started. When I began my blog my kids were 5, 10, and 12. While I had many a nugget of awesomeness to blog about with my 5-year-old, I had far less that was bloggable with my tweens. Which is not to say that they weren’t saying or doing funny things 24/7…they were…it was just that I did not feel comfortable blogging about every last thing that they did or said. I was a Sad Panda when I had to be the big and NOT blog about my tweens. You see my tweens were very computer savvy. Already online with Webkinz and Club Penguin. the older one had started not one but two websites. Their friends were equally as savvy with the internet.

Unable to blog about diaper changes, sleep cycles, and burping, I was bereft of the “gold nuggets” of the blogosphere. But, I am ever the resourceful blogger and soon found other things to blog about. With the baby and toddler stories were off limits, I stumbled upon online safety. With a kid and two tweens who DESPERATELY wanted to be online all hours of the day — or so it seemed — I knew that I needed to learn all that I could about keeping kids online. Back then my kids were only able to access the internet through the computer that was centrally located in our home.
