To attend Tonight’s #community Sitewarming party go to www.resourcefulmommy.comto RSVP. The party starts at 9 p.m. I’m giving away the latest wii Littlest Pet Shop game — not due out until next week. The winner will have one copy hit of the presses!

I’m not entirely sure when I attended my first Sitewarming party on twitter. I discovered twitter around October 2008 around the time I started blogging in earnest. So, I probably attended a twitter party in late October/early November. You know my first Sitewarming might have been for TypeAMom? I started writing for TypeAMom around the same time, so it makes sense that I would attend a Sitewarming party showcasing TypeAMom, too.

Not long after attending a couple of Sitewarming parties, I discovered that Amy/@ResourcefulMom — the inventor of the Sitewarming Parties on twitter — is actually a neighbor of mine. Small world. Sitewarmings parties helped me to start engaging with people on twitter. I’m embarassed to admit that in my early days on twitter I would just friend people — yes, yes, I am guilty of just randomly friending people right, left, and center. Oh, I would post updates as well, but often I spent my time reading other people’s post and friending who they were talking to. I did not interact on twitter. I did not have conversations. I was missing out on what twitter is all about.

So you can imagine how proud I was to hear that Amy wanted to include me in her #community Sitewarming party! After blogging for close to a year, I am eager to show people what my blog is all about.

Which brings me to…what is my blog all about? My blog is Musings from Me on Kids, Preteens, and Teens — www.musingsfromme.com. I muse on raising a kid, a preteen, and a teen in the DC Metro area. I ponder how to engage a 6-year-old boy, an 11-year-old girl, and a 13-year-old girl in ANY activity as a family. Let me tell you it is hard to get a teen excited about the zoo OR a kid interested in spending hours in the National Gallery of Art. The preteen? The preteen will go to either activity, but as the middle child sometimes she gets lost in the shuffle. So, I deal with family strife as well as family fun.

And then there is the minivan. I think my minivan is a part of the family. We eat in it, sleep in it, argue in it, drive in it, clutter it, and generally treat the minivan as though it was a home away from home — a home on wheels.

I am looking forward to being Sitewarmed tonight by @ResourcefulMom. Stop by from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m.! After the party, come back and see what’s cooking on my blog!

Oh and by the way, the party is not just about my site, but these sites as well…
