Gifts for Toddlers and Preschoolers (Giveaway ends 1/28/13)

Once upon a time I volunteered in the church nursery. I helped another mom wrangle the one- through four-year-olds while their parents were at church. I thought that looking after little ones would be easy, especially since I looked after my own little ones at home. I only volunteered once every month or so, but it was surprisingly hard. My little one clung to me for dear life when we were in the church nursery or she would get upset when kids wanted to sit on my lap.

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Thankfully for me and the other volunteer, the church nursery had a TV and DVD player. When children were agitated or crying for their moms and dads, we would pop in one of the Veggie Tales DVDs. While not all of the kids stopped crying, most were distracted by the DVD. I had never watched a Veggie Tales DVD. I found the tales surprisingly sweet. The story lines were simple. Each story had a moral for how we all should behave…not just for kids, adults can learn from these DVDs too.

Veggie Tales Robin Good and His Not-So-Merry Men DVD

In a town very far away, there lived the merry band led by Robin Good. This merry band had one mission, and one mission only, to “help people by fundraising from the rich” and ” giving to the poor.” All was well, until a greedy Prince arrived in the town. The Prince started “stealing the townspeople’s hams.” Whatever would Robin Good and his Merry Men do? Watch the Veggie Tales DVD to find out what happens next!
