Did you know that 3 out of 4 carseats are not installed as they should be, keeping the children who use them from being as safe and secure as possible.
Momfluence has been asked to help spread the word about the NHTSA’s Child Passenger Safety Week, which kicks off on Saturday, September 12th with “Seat Check Saturday.” This is our chance to reach out to other parents and help save lives!

Do you have a car seat safety nightmare story? You know one about installing a car seat safety incorrectly. My husband and I both have one.
Our oldest daughter is 13 — back then infant car seats did not come with a base. The infant car seat was placed on the car’s backseat and you threaded the seat belt through the sides of the infant car seat to secure it. Well, on one occasion I drove with our daughter and forgot to fasten the seat belt. My husband did the same thing. We did not mention it to each other until our daughter was almost 1 and ready for a larger car seat. Both of us were horrified with what we had done. We vowed to be vigilant every time we put our children in their car seats.
