So were you ready for the kids to go back to school? I’m going to sound like a cliche, but as much as I LOVE having my children home for the holidays, I LOVE having them go back to school. I know you know where I am coming from!
Seizing family time was a given this Thanksgiving. We love spending time together even if the length of time is short. I didn’t blog about any of it…but that’s O.K. as it was refreshing to take a mini-blogging/work break over Thanksgiving. I need to recharge my batteries every so often, more so because I work from home and well, my work life and home life don’t always co-exist well. Here’s what we did…
- We froze our tootsies off at ICE! Shrek the Halls at the Gaylord National in National Harbor, MD.
- We drooled at the Peeps shop at National Harbor…and didn’t buy anything…even though Peeps are super cute.
- We explored the large sculpture of a man buried partially beneath the sand also at National Harbor.
- We watched the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving special on DVD…always a favorite for us.
- We spent a leisurely Thanksgiving Day watching the parade, the dog show, and finally going to my parents for dinner…enjoyable!
- We celebrated my husband’s/@DadKnowsBetter‘s birthday at Uncle Julio’s at the Rio in Gaithersburg.
- Some of us saw Skyfall. Some of us will wait to see Wreck-It Ralph this weekend.
- My husband took the kids out to play basketball or to the health club to workout…while I stayed home to catch up on stuff.
- Homework was completed…under duress. Cello was practiced…with a little bit of complaining.
All in all the Thanksgiving Break was short, but much appreciated.
