Musings from Me on Snow Day

My day started in a good way. We got the call that school was canceled for all my children. A snow day is always a good day for me and my kids. My husband even decided to stay home and miss his meeting…this is unheard of as he always goes to work. No snow outside just ice, so we stayed in pajamas all day.

I love snow days. We ate a lot. Snacks, snacks, and more snacks. We watched movies. We played Wii games. We put together puzzles. We read.

I got a phone call from the past. A call from my old work friend and playgroup mom. We had a great chat. We planned a get together with our fellow work friend and playgroup mom. Caught up on my friend’s vacation plans.

Worked a little on school projects. Ugh. When you have children in school there is ALWAYS homework. Math packets. Reading log. Worksheets. Science fair. Research. Homework is never ending. I miss preschool where there was no homework and we could do crafts all day.

We had so much fun playing in the snow and sledding that I lost all track of time. Was it 1 p.m. or 3 p.m.? I had no idea. I was stunned to hear from my husband say that it was already 4:50 p.m. Where had the day gone? I wouldn’t trade a relaxing snow day for anything.

Editor’s Note: I knew I had a lot of blog posts, but even I was shocked that I have almost 120 draft blog posts in draft. Apparently, I have ALL the blog posts. Wow! I am a veritable hoarder of posts. In an attempt to clear out my draft folder, I plan to publish my draft posts one by one. This post was written February 23, 2008. This post contains affiliate links.
