Mrs. Dash Fiesta Lime Seasoning Blend
The Mrs. Dash bottle sat on the counter for about 0.5 seconds before my teen started talking about cooking with it. I did not ask my teen to test the product nor do I make her cook dinner. She’s just the most self-motivated child I have ever met. Fortunately for her, my teen has not inherited my questionable cooking skills.
I know good food. I watch cooking shows. I love eating. But cooking is my nemesis. In my mind, the worst sentence is “It’s 5 p.m., what should I cook for dinner?” I know it is 5 o’clock somewhere, but why does my 5 o’clock not come with Margaritas and delicious Mexican food already prepared. Seriously, I have this conversation in my head every single night. The teen on the other hand…
Got to work. Found a recipe in one of HER cookbooks. Made a list of ingredients. Strongly urged me to take her shopping to Food Lion. Demanded time to cook dinner with Mrs._Dash_Fiesta_Lime. Encouraged her brother and sister to set the table. Sat back and watched as we devoured her creation.
Honestly, I should have her cook dinner every night. Of course pesky things like school, homework, and volleyball get in the way.
Her recipe of choice: Lime-Infused Chicken. She boiled the chicken — it was frozen. She rubbed the chicken with Mrs._Dash_Fiesta_Lime. She baked it and served it with Mexican corn and beans. It was a delish.
Mrs. Dash Fiesta Lime is a new seasoning from Mrs. Dash with no-salt or MSG. With a picky teen and preteen, I have learned to ignore the curled up lip and questioning glance when new dishes are presented at mealtime. My kid on the other hand ate Chorizo and jalapeno peppers on a recent vacation. I wish his sisters were as adventurous eaters. Mrs. Dash is a hit with the picky eater crowd!
As a family we try to eat healthy, well-balanced meals. Some nights we do well and some nights well…let’s just say we strive to do better the next night. Mrs._Dash_Fiesta_Lime is a welcome addition to our pantry — a tasty ingredient for many dishes. I’m looking forward to using it to cook shrimp soon.
