Hickory Farms Pack and Go Picnic Tote
Picture if you will a family room. There are two small couches. One desk chair. One recliner with a footstool. Two people are sitting in the family happily watching TV. Relaxing. Stretched out. Comfy. Enjoying the relative quiet. Feet up on the coffee table. There’s a patter of footsteps heard by the two people. The two people look up. What is that patter of feet? They see that the patter feet belongs to a gaggle of people streaming in to the family room from upstairs. The two people look nervously at the approaching group and each other. Where will everyone sit? The nine people plonk themselves down on couches, the floor, and any available seating space. Before long the two people watching TV are not able to hear the TV. Their space had been invaded.
This was the scene at my parents’ house on Thanksgiving Day. After devouring a wonderful dinner cooked by my mother, we all settled down to watch The Amazing Spiderman. Eleven people squeezed in to my parents’ family room filling the two couches, one desk chair, and the lone recliner.
Part way through the movie someone asked for a snack. What? Hadn’t we only just eaten? Of course! But it is a holiday and snacking is the name of the game. My father brought down juice and water for the kids, soda for the adults, chips, and the Hickory Farms gift basket that I had brought to the family Thanksgiving Feast.
