Have you heard of the phrase “email bankruptcy”? People it to describe a need to purge all emails…start from scratch…turn over a new email if you will. I’ve seen post after post on Facebook from people who complain about how out of control their email box is. They declare that they will throw in the towel. Delete all emails. Start over from scratch. Declare email bankruptcy. My email box is always full, but I could never delete every single, solitary email. would never delete all unread emails. I just couldn’t.
The problem with my email box is that I can never get to grips with every single, solitary email that comes in. I delete emails. I unsubscribe from lists. I categorize emails according to level of priority. And yet I still mess up. I still find an email days after it was sent. I get annoyed with myself. I have not only let down myself but the person who sent the email. Ugh. Just ugh.
Yesterday morning I saw a post on Facebook about a new release from Disney. Then I saw another and another and another. Soon my entire stream was chock-a-block full of posts about a new Disney film called The Delivery Man. I read that 533 bloggers were asked by Disney to post. I was happy for the bloggers, but felt a twinge of “Why wasn’t I in that group?” I thought that thought for about a nano second because really what is the point of that line of thinking. Doesn’t help me at all.
Later in the day, I scrolled through my email cursing myself for letting my email get out of hand. I won’t tell you how many emails I have in my email box…you might faint. I valiantly did what I do each day…I searched, sifted, and deleted. And wouldn’t you know it, I came across an email…from Disney’s Marshall…asking if I wanted to be one of the 533 bloggers tasked with promoting the Delivery Man movie. Oh…my…goodness. I took a deep breath and decided that instead of beating myself up about my oversight, I would write a post about the movie. I know that all of you love anything Disney, so I am not going to deprive you of something just because I was not as on top of my email as I should have been.
What is The Delivery Man all about?
- A DreamWorks Pictures movie about an affable underachiever finds out he’s fathered 533 children through anonymous donations to a fertility clinic 20 years ago.
- Once he learns of all his children, he must decide whether or not to come forward when 142 of them file a lawsuit to reveal his identity.
- “Delivery Man” celebrates what it means to be a modern family—this one consisting of up to 533 children.
- In support of this, more than 533 family bloggers partnered with DreamWorks Pictures today to exclusively debut the new trailer for this heart-warming comedy starring Vince Vaughn, which will be released in theaters on November 22, 2013.
I was not compensated to write this post. I’m a lover of all things Disney and Dreamworks Pictures and like sharing what I find with my readers.
