A few months ago I was asked to be an ambassador for Unilever’s food line. I must admit that if you had asked what foods Unilever makes I would have given you a blank stare. I thought Unilever manufactured cleansing products, like Dove.
I know now that Unilever makes Hellman’s Mayonnaise, Ragu Spaghetti Sauce, Knorr Recipe Secrets, and so many other fine products. I know Unilever’s food line so well after working as a Family Dish Ambassador for the last few months.
Unilever has an awesome site called what else but… The Family Dish! On the site you can find recipes, blog posts about cooking, podcasts to listen to while you cook, and so much more.
I am not a great cook, but I do cook dinner for my family each night. I should get some sort of a medal right??? No medal needed. I want my family to eat well. I try to cook meals that the kids will (1) enjoy eating and (2) are nutritious. Some nights are a homerun. Other nights are a huge miss. But, I do my best, which is all I can do.
Unilever through The Family Dish website is a treasure trove of helpful, not-too-complicated, and very tasty recipes for busy parents. In my role as Family Dish Ambassador I found myself returning again and again to The Family Dish recipes. The recipes are conveniently included in a recipe book, which is spiral bound with easy-to-wipe spills off pages.
I have 10 copies of The Family Dish Cookbook to giveaway! Yes, that’s right 10 copies!
The Family Dish website is also home to the Dishers. Who are the Dishers? Well, I’m one of them! We’re The Family Dish Ambassadors AKA The Dishers! Click here to see a familiar face or two!
The Dishers are a group of 12 bloggers. Some are very good cooks who blog about cooking. Some are bloggers who like to cook with their kids. I’m in the latter category. Over the course of the campaign I cooked, talked about cooking, and ate meals with my family using Unilever brand products. It was a fun experience for all of us — me, my husband, my teen, my tween, and my kid!
Want to win The Family Dish Cookbook? I have 10 copies to giveaway. Leave a comment for each entry. One comment = one entry.
Go to The Family Dish site. Choose a Family Disher. Find a recipe from that Disher. Come back here and tell me what the recipe is and which Family Disher wrote the recipe. You don’t have to choose me!

I participated as one of The Family Dish Ambassadors. I was sent food products, a digital camera, a video camera, and assorted items as part of the program. I traveled to New York City and Unilever’s Camden, New Jersey, facility as part of my participation in the program. The views expressed in this post are my own.
I’d have to go with your own recipe (well – it’s your son’s actually) for the bbq chicken salad. I’m strangely intrigued, and will definitely be trying it!

Well, I wanted to choose you to see what kinds of recipes you cooked up. *grin*
The recipe I found was Hide and Go Seek Milkshake, written by Jill Berry. This is a recipe I think I could do. Thank you.
The mexican shrimp marinara from the Tidy Mom/Cheryl Sousan sounds delish!
